Babywearing

Workshops

I’ve always been a huge nerd - not only about my neurospicy special interests like woven wrapping - but also about teaching methodology. I’ve always taught. Since long before I understood I had just somehow managed to get invited to infodump on a bunch of strangers 😅.

  • A basic babywearing workshop teaches safe, comfortable carrying with wraps and soft-structured carriers. Participants learn newborn and older-baby positioning, how to adjust for different bodies, and key safety checks (airway, chin, kissable). It covers benefits—bonding, hands-free convenience, soothing—and includes hands-on practice with common carries, fitting/troubleshooting, and tips for everyday wear. Ideal for expectant parents, new caregivers, or anyone wanting babywearing confidence.

  • A level two babywearing course for woven wrap wearing focused on safe back carrying with babies who have developed core control. Participants will learn hands-on techniques for comfortable, secure back carries using woven wraps, with emphasis on ergonomic positioning, maintaining airway and spinal alignment, and transitions from front to back safely. The course covers age-appropriate carry selection, fabric choice and tensioning, common troubleshooting for pressure points and asymmetry, and strategies for supporting a child's progression in independence and movement. Practical practice, safety checks, troubleshooting scenarios, and guidance on safely responding to wriggling, reaching, or self-initiated movements are included. By the end of the session, caregivers will be confident in preparing, dressing for, and executing safe back carries with babies who demonstrate reliable core control.
