GENERAL

  • For pregnant people - gentle movement (yoga-inspired) is a healthy way to keep mobility and strength during all 9 months of your pregnancy. I teach classes that are adaptable to all 3 trimesters and am able to offer variations on all poses. We work to soothe the aches and pains of carrying a human, and also to strengthen our bodies for the upcoming huge workout that is childbirth.

I believe gentle movement is safe up until your due date, as long as you listen to your body attentively and rest if needed.

After your birth, I’d recommend waiting until you stop bleeding and any perineal tears or c-section incisions are healed. If you feel wobbly in your pelvis, pee when you cough, etc, that’s all fine and normal. As a benchmark, after my first vaginal birth, I was back at my practice at 5 weeks postpartum with many modifications. If you aren’t sure your body is ready, please consult your physician. If you have any particular health concerns you think I should be made aware of, please let me know ahead of time.

  • I am currently subbing at Akasha Yoga Montreal and Idolem Griffintown. I will be teaching regularly with Yoga Sur Le Canal through the summer of 2025. To catch one of my classes, check each studio’s page.

  • As my practice and teaching evolves, and as I learn more and more about the western practice of yoga and mindfulness, I have become more and more aware of its capitalistic and corrupt roots here. I do use common pose names and sequences in classes to describe what we are doing, but I personally have begun to reframe how I think of my practice towards movement and awareness, rather than yoga and meditation. The reason I continue to use YOGA in some situations is simply to help others find me.
